It has been awhile since I have written anything on my blog. Unfortunately I have sad news.
Dear all,
When I woke up Wednesday morning and saw Bojangles lying on the floor I thought good he is still breathing and his eyes are moving and noticing me. I called out his name, he didn't respond. I sat on the floor and petted him. He closed his eyes every time I touched his head, just like all dogs do when they are being petted, as if they are saying aah! That feels good! His tail wagged but he didn't want to get up off the floor. I went to the door to let him out, no response. I opened the door, no response. I stepped outside, no response.
I went upstairs and got Mitch to come down, response. Why for Mitch and not me? Well, Mitch isn't supposed to know when it is time, only me. I knew it was time to call the Purdue Small Animal Hospital. It was time.
We will miss our good friend Bojangles. His servant attitude was far above ours. He continued to work to the end. He wanted to work the room at the Pastor's circuit meeting last week. He even greeted Pastor Engel in the grief room yesterday at the hospital as if to say, you need comfort and therefore you need to pet me. He was working and he was tired. It was the time to do the thing I didn't want to do. We will truly miss him.
God comfort you all with his peace.
